Hanging posters
Here's how!
I'm often asked how best to hang posters or drawings on the wall.
Here I'd like to help you find an answer to this question, or rather, a frame.
Here's how to find the right size for your frame:
Preparation:
First, measure your picture and/or determine the paper size.
Think about where you want to hang your picture and measure it as well. This way you'll know how much space you have for a frame or whether your picture will even fit there.
My pictures usually have the following dimensions:
Poster:
- DIN A6 / 10.5 x 14.8 cm
- DIN A5 / 14.8 x 21 cm
- DIN A4 / 21 x 29.7 cm
- DIN A3 / 29.7 x 42 cm
These DIN A formats are common, and you can get them in almost any picture frame in these sizes.
My original drawings don't always have such common dimensions, as I often use American paper, which is usually specified in inches:
- DIN A4 / 21 x 29.7 cm
- 12 x 9 inches / 22.9 x 30.5 cm
- 11 x 14 inches / 29.7 x 35.6 cm
- DIN A3 / 29.7 x 42 cm
- DIN A2 / 42 x 59.4 cm
- 18 x 24 inches / 45.6 x 61 cm
- Some of my original drawings also have more unusual dimensions, e.g., when I cut a sheet to size! So it's best to measure to be sure ;)
In general, I really like the frame from "HAAK DESIGN."
My absolute favorite is the HAAK DESIGN picture frame:
RICO is available in various colors and sizes (up to DIN A0).
They are a bit more expensive than other frames, but a bit more "special."
I especially like the gold or silver frame.
If your picture is an unusual size, you can also have a Rico custom-made! ->HERE
I had a Rico custom-made in black and silver for my drawing of "Ezra":
A simpler alternative is the Haak "Tokyo" picture frame:
The Haak "Tokyo" picture frames are available in various colors and sizes (from DIN A4 to A1).
They are an affordable, yet high-quality and simple option.

Here you can see my DIN A1 Pokémon drawing in a matte black Tokio frame.
A6 Poster:
For the mini posters in A6 / 10x15cm, I recommend photo frames:

Passe-partout
Of course, you can also hang your picture in a larger picture frame.
For example, in a frame designed for DIN A3 posters measuring 29.7x24cm.
To ensure the picture frame is completely "filled," use a mat.
Here you can see how a picture looks in a larger frame with a mat:
You could also fit a DIN A3 poster in the left frame.
You can decide for yourself which option you prefer (and you may have to do so depending on the space available).
Mat wooden picture frames in various colors suitable for:
A1 Poster and with Passepartout für A2
A2 Poster and with Passepartout für A3
A3 Poster and with Passepartout für A4
A4 Poster and with Passepartout für A5
You can also hang smaller posters (mini posters 10x15cm) from a string of lights:
